Auto search wildcard?

If I search for 'hos' it does not bring back results for 'hospital' - you have to enter the full word

Is there a way to bring back search results for 'hos*' without the user having to use a * in the search?

I don't want to use the substring search option because that would bring things back like:
cohost
chose
echos
etc...

Just looking for a server setting that says "search for words starting with searchstring"

There are only the two features you mentioned: either the use of the wildcard character, or the substring match option. We have not had any other users request for an option to automate all searches as "starting with" at this point.
