adding virtual directory in search

We are using v6 of Zoom Indexer, it has been working fine on our intranet, with using two addition categories. Recently new application has been added to the intranet that grabs pdf files from another drive of same server and display it on user demand.
We also want to add that driver folder in our current indexing setup so user can include pdf file content in searching as well.
This folder is also setup as virtual drive on webserver.
We have tried adding new start point using the virtual directory as url i.e
http://myIntranet/virtualdirectory
but It did not work.
for testing we were able to select folder directory from the drive by using offline mode instead of spider mode but the index loose the data of online intranet and search result only searches through that drive.

what are the option here are we missing anything do you know workaround of that?

If you wish to use Spider Mode, then the new folder of files that you wish to index must be hosted on a web server.

A virtual directory in IIS may be able to serve the files, but you can check this by entering the same URL in to your browser. What do you see when you enter http://myIntranet/virtualdirectory into your browser?

If you see a 404 File Not Found, then Zoom too will be the same, and not be able to find any thing to index.

If this is just a folder which contains PDF files, then you need to enable Directory Listing in IIS for that folder. Then you would be able to browse the files and subfolders when you enter the above URL in your browser, and Zoom would be able to crawl the links to find the PDF files.
