  • Is a space in a directory name, searchable by zoom?

I have a subdirectory on my site called /members only/

The zoom search changes the space to %20 (which is fine) but then I get an invalid url error message.

    Thanks for any advice.

Spaces are considered an unsafe character in the URL standard. So it is not considered a valid character, no.

Most browsers and programs automatically encode the space character to "%20" (known as Percent Encoding) and may do this transparently without you knowing. In Zoom, we make this clear.

As to why you are getting an invalid URL error message, that's not clear. This may be due to your server configuration, or the software/CMS (content management system) you are using. For example, it may be parsing the "/members only/" part of the URL and redirecting elsewhere, and it is incorrectly not handling the percent encoded URL.

If the site is online, you can email or PM us the full URL and we can verify the situation. Better yet, send us the .zcfg file with your configuration and we can take a closer look at what is happening.
