  • Can changes to the .JS and tmplate files be saved between indexing

Hi. We are new to ZoomSearch v6. We like what it offers but need to perform a lot of customisation of the output files to bring it into line with our in-house style guide. This is not a problem except that we can't find a way of maintaining these changes. We have local copies of the .js and .html files and just overwrite them each and every time we index.

Would I be correct in thinking that the zoomsearch .exe file generates the .js and .html file every time you index? If so the only way around this issue is to carry on doing what we are doing. Does this sound right to you?

No you can save a copy of your customized script in a folder of your choosing, then under "Configure"->"Advanced" check the option to "Specify my own path for the script source code" and point this to your folder (with the customized script).

Zoom will now take this customized script and put it in the Output folder after each indexing.

Zoom will also leave your "search.html" (or "search_template.html") file in the Output folder alone, it will not overwrite it, provided the file already exists in the folder. If you are manually moving files from the Output folder (such that the file doesn't exist in the Output folder at time of indexing), then yes, Zoom will create a new default file each time.
