settings.asp re-use

Is it required to replace settings.asp with a newly generated vesrion after every index of a site, or can the previous version of settings.asp be used for future indexes also?

The settings file (setting.asp, settings.php) must be updated & uploaded when a new index is built.

This is because the file contains critical information, like the current size of the index, number of words in the dictionary, etc...

Failing to upload this file will result in strange and unwanted behavior. Incorrect search results, crashes, random errors, etc..
