Scan files with no extention And Configure Thumbnails Can zoom do this

    Scan files with no extention And Configure Thumbnails Can zoom do this


    I am in need of this feature. Or I just have to add an extention to files that don't require them

    Zoom can scan a file wth no extention.

    Can Zoom Configure Thumbnails for those files?

    Here is an example URL I am Using. The content is called via GET.

    http://example.com/folder/2010/june/index.php?page=P657903

    Is there a way to configure thumbnials for the above page?
    <Meta name="ZOOMIMAGE" Would be more a hassel. Since I'd have to add a <head> section.

    THis is an OFFLINE SCAN of just the files "P657903" with a base url of
    http://example.com/folder/2010/june/index.php?page=

    If you were using Spider mode then Zoom would pick up that the flie type is PHP and you could assign a thumb to the PHP file type.

    But from what I understand from your post you are indexing in offline mode a collection of files (in HTML format??) that have file names that are just a number without an file extension.

    So yes you could use the ZOOMIMAGE meta tag to solve the problem.

    But otherwise it isn't possible to assign thumbs to a file of unknown type.

    Maybe you can just rename the files. e.g. rename P657903 to P657903.BODY

    Then assign thmbs to the .BODY file type. This might or might not be practical for your site.

      Zoom should pickup meta tags anywhere on the page provided there is no <head>...</head> section at all specified.

      But if there is a <head>...</head> section, then Zoom will expect all meta tags to be found within that section and not outside it.

      Not sure if that may help you but, just in case.

        No that did help. I figured out the first question by just Using "wrensoft"'s suggestion and adding the ZOOMIMAGE and indexing online. But this part will help in future indexes.

        I was certain I had tried to put
        ZOOMIMAGE in the middle of the pages and it did not work.
        But that was a year or two ago on previous Zoom editions. ANd had not removed the <head>
