  • Can Zoom Search a MySQL Database?

    Greetings:

Does this search engine search content that is dynamicall generated from a MySQL database, as well as content in static .html pages?

For example, what if you had a web site that linked to a WordPress.org blog or series of blogs. The web site consists of discreet, free-standing .html files, while the WordPress blog consists of blogs and page content in a MySQL database that are dynamically rendered on the fly as requested.

Can Zoom search across all the content, both static and dynamically generated?

Can any search engine do this? Or how would this be handled?

    Answers and advice appreciated.

    regards,

    Steven

Yes to all of the above.

Zoom (and most other search engines) does this with a "Spider mode". A spider crawls each page as if it was a web browser, so it will see what a browser would -- the dynamically generated resultant web page, generated on request.
