keep the £ sign in search result

Wondering anyone can help on this.

I have a site contains "£" sign. but it doesn't seems been indexed as the search result only show 45.99 rather than £45.99. How can I make the search engine index "£" as well as the number?

Are you using the HTML entity for the pound sign? That is, it should be "£" in the HTML. This is the safe/standard way of using a pound character on a HTML page.

There was a known problem with UTF-8 that was recently addressed if a different character appears in place of the pound sign.
