Search Word Logging

At present I have a search box on my website home page only. Form action is search.php, methot is GET. Any searches made from this form do not get logged, only search words entered from the search.php page itself get logged.
Can anyone help or advise what I'm doing wrong. Are there some hidden fields I should be adding to the search form from the home page?

If both forms call the same script, it shouldn't matter which form you use. Is this a public web site we can have a look at? If yes, then what is the URL for the search function and the log file as well.

I agree and suspect you have two different search scripts and your forms are submitting to different targets.
