  • .pps and .dot Files

I just ran my first Zoom index and things went very smoothly, thanks for making such a great product!

I have some PowerPoint template and Word template files in the directory. After installing the Word and PowerPoint plugins I added them to the list of extensions scanned in the configuration window but while it scanned and processed the ppt and doc files, it only scanned the pps and dot files.

Does that mean the template files are unable to be indexed?

    Thanks!

It should be OK with .DOT files. I don't know if we tested with .PPS files but it should work as well.

However in addition to adding .DOC & . PPT to the list of file extensions, you also need to seperately add the .DOT and .PPS file extensions.

Just to confirm that ".PPS" is not currently supported. We will most likely add this in V5.0.

".DOT" however, is supported and should index without problems. Turn on "Verbose mode" and see what the error message is.
