  • Feature request

Allow search results url to be configurable.

    Reason for request -
When I index my site I get alot of hits in my IIS logfiles. I want to be able to setup a second site on my server just for indexing (I will disable logging on this second site and use a different domain, or ip or port) After indexing this site with the other port, domain, or ip I wish to change the url in the zoom_pages.zdate (CGI) via a setting in Zoom rather than changing it manually after each index.

Thought I might try to clarify this request (and confirm if this is what you mean).

I think you want to be able to use a different base URL for the output of the search results, than the one that is used for indexing. For example, this means you will be able to index your site as a local server with a URL of:
    http://mylocalwebserver/mysite/

But you can then have the index data written out with a base URL of:
    http://www.mysite.com/

This way, you can index your site via an internal/local network address, and have the search results presented with the Internet-accessable address.

This certainly can be useful, and we are considering it for Version 5.0. If more people are interested, do let us know.
