Display only file name in title of search results

Is there a way to display only the filename for the title in the results?

Current:
1. file:///drive letter:/Filename.ext
... Description goes here ...
13 Jul 2004 - URL: file:///drive letter:/Filename.ext

Example:
1. Filename.ext
... Description goes here ...
13 Jul 2004 - URL: file:///drive letter:/Filename.ext

I'm not using the Title option since the Title in the meta tags is not correct for most of the M$ Office format files. Currently screen scraping the search results with ASP and applying some regular expressions to try and change the results.

If this is specifically for your Office documents (DOC, PPT, etc.) then you can use ".desc" files to specify an alternative title and meta description for these files. See this FAQ for more information:

You can use this to specify just the filename as the new title, or something more meaningful if you like.
