  • Search points to a nonexisting file.

When a search is undertaken for a word in our muster database the result points to a nonexisting file. http://www.cerberus.com.au/muster_results2.html

I am sure that previously either the correct file or index page was found. I am using version 4.2 build 1004

You haven't given us enough information. Where is the search page that is "pointing" to this file you mentioned? Can you give us the URL to this page?

If you are referring to a HTML search form that you created yourself, check that you have the action= parameter in the <form> tag set to the correct page.

If you are referring to a search box generated by Zoom (ie. search.php), then check your "Link back URL" setting in the Configuration window, under the "Advanced" tab.

You most likely have set either of the above to the "muster_results2.html" page you are referring to.

Perhaps it would be best if you can email us your ZCFG file. We need to know whether you are using Offline or Spider mode indexing, and any other indexing options you may be using.

If you are using Offline mode, check if you actually have these files on the local copy on your computer, even though they do not exist on your web server.

If you are using Spider mode, turn on Verbose, and set it to use "Single-threaded downloaded" in the Configuration window. Re-index the site, and you should find messages logged as to when/where this URL was found during the scanning process. This should help determine which page contained the link that led to "muster_results1".

If you have difficulty looking for things in the index log, you can save it to file ("File"->"Save index log to file") and open them up in a text editor such as Notepad, where you can use features like "Find" to locate the lines in question.

You may simply have broken links to the file, or there may be some scripting which is being mistakingly parsed as links. Either way, if you continue to have problems, send us your ZCFG file and we can attempt to reproduce this problem and determine its cause.
