  • Highlighting with Typepad

Does anyone have any advice on how to add highlighting to posts created using Typepad? I tried adding the highlight.js script and body onload event to the post templates, and then when that failed, even in the posts themselves, but received the following error:

Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://XXXXXXXXXXXXXX?zoom_highlight=keywords
    Operation aborted

Note that even adding <script type="text/javascript">highlight();</script> after the </body> tag didn't work.

I put the same script in my regular, non-dynamic, FAQ pages and it works fine there. Help!

It depends on what is actually on the webpage in question. If you can give us the actual URL to the online page, we can take a quick look and see if we can spot any obvious causes.

Usually though, if your page relies on alot of other Javascripts (eg. dropdown menus, animated layers, etc.) then it is quite possible that there will be conflicts in functionality with the highlighting script. You might want to take a look at this earlier thread which discusses the same thing:

This seems to have resolved itself on its own. I tried it again to give an example, and this time it works just fine! I wish every problem was as easily solved.
