Problem with new version Linux_search.cgi script

On upgrading to Zoom 5.1 Build 1016 my cgi based implementation promptly failed with type 500 errors on the server.

After some work found that the problem was in the Linux search.cgi script

The new version 246k 21/5/2008 fails
The older version 203k 5/3/2008 works fine

I have left the updated version build 5016 on the PC, and simply substituted the older version of the Linux_search.cgi script, which seems to work perfectly well as a workaround.

Has anyone else experienced this problem ?
Are there features in the updated script that I am missing out on ?

Server details:

Operating system RedHat linux 7.3
Web server Apache 1.3.27
CGI Scripting language Perl 5.6.1

When did you download build 1016? There was an early build of it which had this problem. But it was fixed and if you downloaded it any time after May 21st, it should be OK. Here's the old thread about this issue.

So if you downloaded your copy of build 1016 some time ago, re-download and re-install the latest from our website. If you still have trouble, let us know.

Just to be sure, dowmloaded the 1016 version this morning, and tried again.

Exactly the same result, the module does not run on my Linux host.

Could you email me the downgraded version of the linux cgi file. I am encountering the exact same issue but I only joined when version 1016 was released. My email is imraan@tstt.net.tt this would be greatly appreciated.

Imraan, I am not sure how you can state you have "exactly the same issue", when you don't have access the to old release of the software. There are many reasons why you might get a server side 500 error with a CGI script. You should review this FAQ about the installation of the CGI before assuming it is some problem with the current release. We have 1000's of users using the current release without a problem, so it is much more likely to be an installation issue.

In the Apache file configuration httpd.conf , we have put it:

V5.1 build 1017 was released today. You can download it from here:

This build addresses the problem colinshead was reporting (amongst other bug fixes).
