  • Feature request - Add keywords to the spider import list

It would be great if we could associate a particular keyword (force ZSE to associate a chosen keyword) to each url in the spider import list CSV file.

    Current example
    ----------------
    http://news.mysite.com/, INDEX_AND_FOLLOW

    Proposed example
    -----------------
    http://news.mysite.com/, INDEX_AND_FOLLOW, KEY=Test

ZSE should just add the chosen keyword to all other keywords for spider detects.

This feature would open up a number of configuration possibilities and make ZSE an even greater tool.

You should take a look at the Recommended Links feature in Zoom. This allows you to associate keywords or search phrases with particular links. See chapter 2.2.11 in the Users Guide for more information.

It does not add the word to the indexed page's content. Recommended links show up separately from the main search results.

Thanks Ray but the recommended links feature is not what we are looking for. We mostly index third party sites so cannot manipulate categories via the provided tools. A "secret keyword" feature will allow us to better manage this senario and provide the added bonus of enabling the possibility of creating a recommended links and/or directory type page using these "secret" keywords. Our audience would prefer to be guided by having the ability to click on a "descriptive" link rather than using the search box to find what they are looking for.

Why? Categories and recommended links will both work with external sites.

You can place an external site into a particaular category using its URL. For example, for the category pattern you could use,
        ExternalSite1.com
If you had two sites in the same category then you could use,
        ExternalSite1.com;ExternalSite2.com
