  • How to fix or decode "URL encoding" to use "Highlight & Jump" option?!!

    charset=windows-1256

"Zoom Search Engine V5" encoded URL like :

    http://islamport.com/d/1/aqd/1/209/726.html?zoom_highlightsub=%C7%E1%E3%CD%C8%C9

So ..the option of highlight and jump dose not work .

If I fixed or decode this URL encoding .. then the option of highlight and jump will work in the same page :

    http://islamport.com/d/1/aqd/1/209/726.html?zoom_highlightsub=المحبة

How to fix or decode "URL encoding" to use "Highlight & Jump" option ?!!

"Zoom Search Engine V4.2" dose not have this problem .

but I don't want to use Version older than "Zoom Search Engine 5.1.1016" .

    Thanks.

There are some issues in Javascript with decoding HTTP GET parameters in certain charsets, and Arabic (windows-1256) is one of them. We hope to workaround this in a future version but the issue is ultimately a problem with Javascript itself.

V4.2 did not encode its HTTP GET parameters correctly and it works this way because of some browsers allowing for this. However, it is not standard compliant and not correct to be using non-encoded characters in the URL like that.

    Other important things of note:
    • Your web pages contain invalid HTML. Most of your meta tags (including the charset one) are broken and missing the closing ">". Use a HTML validator (such as this one which is reporting over 150 errors on one of your pages) to fix these issues up.
    • You have modified our "highlight.js" script. We do not provide support for modified scripts. In addition to this, your modification of the comments and copyright statement is a violation of copyright and usage terms.

Thanks a lot for your answer ..
And maybe somebody try to modify the script to fix the problem but I don't agree to modify the comments and copyright statement .
      Sorry for that .
      It replaced with original script.
but really we need a solution for this problem "Javascript with decoding HTTP GET parameters in certain charsets".
      Thanks .
