Problems using UTF-8, Russian and ASP script

We havde v5 of zoomsearch, and want to use it for an multilingual page.

Site is using UTF-8
Template is using UTF-8
Index tool is set to UTF-8
Language is Russian.

How come we have to use codepage=1252 in search.asp (search_api.asp) file to get results, as far as i understand, that is latin.

Our site uses Codepage=65001, and this cinflicts with the codepage set in search.asp (search_api.asp) how can we solve this? (changing codepage on site is not an option).

You appear to be using a fairly old build (V5.0 build 1000). The latest version is V5.1 build 1013. You can download this from here. There has been some changes with the way the ASP script handles data files to prevent issues with the codepage settings.

Try the latest build without the 1252 codepage setting first and let us know if it helps.
