Are there any plans for developing this feature for the php version?

It is on our list of things to consider for the next major release. But we have not had much user demand for it (you are the first to have requested it so far), so it is not of high priority at the moment. If other people are interested, please let us know.

I am interested. I currently use the cgi version, but if it means I can extend the RSS feed with MediaRSS, then I'll happily switch to PHP.
