  • V5.1 has been released!

We've just put out the new V5.1 release which you can download from here:
    http://www.wrensoft.com/zoom/whatsnew.html

As you should know, all minor versions are free upgrades, so registered users of V5.0 can simply download and install the latest version and it will pickup your license keys automatically.

Note: By default, V5.1 will install to a different program folder (named "Zoom Search Engine 5.1") than your existing version of Zoom. You can change this path at installation to your existing V5 install if you want V5.1 to overwrite V5. However, if you allow V5.1 to be installed to a new directory, you may need to reinstall (or copy over) any plugins, changed language files, scripts, or ZCFG files to your new program folder if necessary.

A number of new features were added with this release including spider throttling, robots.txt support, meta robots support, and User-Agent string settings. You can click on the link above for more information on what's new in this release.

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments!

I had a strange thing happen with I tried the new version. I loaded my .zcfg file that I used for v5 (build 100 and I also have some menu's blocked out in my html/etc pages with the zoomstop/zoomrestart options.

Those stop/restart commands worked fine in v5, but in the new version, it appears that it didn't. When I reindexed, it shows the menus.

I have since reuploaded the files using v5, but thought I'd see if anyone else had this issue??

Yes, you're right, this was a bug in V5.1.1000. Please download the latest build (V5.1.1001) which addresses this issue here:

We apologize for any inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any further problems or questions.

This bug is also discussed here: http://www.wrensoft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1875
