  • Roles, security and categories

    Hi.

I am using your search in a cms system.

I am using categories for roles/security.

Roles like: Admin, member, public and so on.

    This is allright.

But "a bit" messy when I also want to use categories as it was ment to be used.

Therefore I ask you: will you consider, in a later version, to add an extra "Role/security" tab, it should work like categories - but be completely separated from categories (another tagname).

    Pleeeeease

The problem with adding something like this is that most users will perceive it as being an actual security system, and that they would be expecting Zoom to be enforcing the authentication/security aspect, when in fact, these are not enforced by Zoom, and it is left to the file system or an external security implementation.

I think it might be more confusing than helpful in most cases. Food for thought nonetheless. Support for roles and user groups is something that we're thinking about, and we will be investigating possible alternative methods in the future.

Looking forward to your implementation. This will make zoom search much more useable in cms systems.
