  • Indexing not working - No search results

    Hi,

I recently purchased your search engine for my employer needs. For some odd reason, when I scan my site, upload the zdat's and other necessary files, submit a search, I have no search results.

Here are just some of my settings:

    General Tab:

    Single-threaded downloading
    Reload all files

    Search Page:

    Miscellaneous>Default to match all words
Show time taken to perform search
    Show Zoom info line

    Scan Options:

    all extensions are accounted for

    Indexing options:

    Pretty much everything set

    Results layout:

    Pretty much everything

    Sitemap:

    Google site map is listed

I've ran this search on another domain without a problem. Both servers have PHP and it's the correct version.

Are there any suggestions? If I need to provide a test URL I can.

    Thanks,

It could be many reasons. For example maybe you didn't index any files for this domain and so the index is nearly empty. Or maybe you have problems with your Apache configuration.

Can you post the URL to the search function so that we can see the problem.

It's also worth going through the FAQs in our Support section, like these:
      Q. Why are some of my pages being skipped by the indexer?
      Q. Why are links in my Javascript menus being skipped?
      Q. I am indexing with spider mode but it is not finding all the pages on my web site

And confirming whether Zoom reports any files indexed at the end of indexing or not. But as David suggested above, the quickest way for us to narrow things down would be if you can give us a URL to your search function online, and we can take a look.

Thanks David for your help. It was a memory issue on our server. Search script is working fine now.

        Thanks again,
