Date in infoline

I've been customizing the search results page using all the hints in the manual and on this site but I haven't been able to find how to remove the date in the infoline. The date always appears as the date I indexed the site so every found page has the same date, which seems silly.

BTW, I'm currently not using the date meta tag (tho' I'd like to, when I have time to update ten thousand pages!).

From the Configuration window, click on the "Results Layout" tab and uncheck "Date". You will need to re-index for it to take effect.

I thought I had done that but actually I had unchecked "sort by date" under search improvement in the Search Page tab.
