  • French accents not showing up

    Hi

I'm using Zoom on this website : www.forces.ca. The site has a French and an English version. For the French site, I used the french.zlang file set.

When the search form and results are displayed, none of the French accents appear.

For the form labels, if I modify the settings.zdat file and change the accented characters to code (ex. é = &eacute), they show up, but that is a hassle as I have to update that file every week when I re-index the site. Also, this does not solve the issue of the results being displayed with no accented characters.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem ?

    Thanks

    Cynthia

You are using an ASP.NET (.aspx) search page and the scripting code you are using is not changing the encoding to match what you are using (UTF.

See the "Troubleshooting" section (scroll down and locate that heading) of the ASP.NET support page here:
    http://www.wrensoft.com/zoom/support/aspdotnet.html

    That should fix your problem.
Note: you should not need to modify the settings.zdat file at any point.
