  • doubled up URL and more

    Hi,

I have indexed and uploaded all files to the web site server. I have to do this manually as I want all files to be in the root folder of the web site but if I leave the field blank (upload files to folder on server) the program will not upload. - Any ideas?

The searches seem to work ok. I have over 300 PDF pages on a site BUT when I click on a link to go to the page I get a weird doubling up of the uRL. like this:

    http://www.bishopbros.com.pg/www.bishopbros.com.pg/PDF_files/Industrial_3_26.pdf

while the correct URL obviously should be:

    http://www.bishopbros.com.pg/PDF_fil...trial_3_26.pdf

Any hints/help to fix that would be sincerely appreciated.

    Thanks!

You can specify an upload path of "./" if you wish to use the home directory (or the current directory you are automatically in upon logging in to the FTP).

The latter problem seems to be an incorrect base URL or start folder. Are you using Offline Mode indexing? What are you settings? (I just checked your website and the links seems to be fixed, so perhaps you've solved this problem now?)

      Ray,

thanks for your response. I will try the "./" path next time I want to update the index.

The 'doubled up" URL was caused by my own stupidity. I had only ONE slash after "http:/www.etc". Eventually discovered it myself and fixed it.

I am using offline mode to index the site as I only have a few text links to the main pages. The rest of the pages are driven by Javascript menus as with over 300 pages on the site it is impossible to access all of them by text links. At least I don't know how to do that.
