    keywords vs zoomwords

    Please excuse a stupid question.

    If on a page '<meta name="keywords" content="red,blue,green">'
    is replaced with
    '<meta name="ZOOMWORDS" content="red,blue,green">'
what, if any, will be the effect on weighting?

I am trying to get rid of the keywords meta tag as I believe it is affecting Google Search.
    Thanks for the help.

There should be no effect from Zoom's point of view.

Keyword weighting for relevancy calculations can also be adjusted from the Weightings configuration page.

Yes, have been doing that way of weighting for the local search for years. But it doesn't get rid of the bad effects in Google Indexing from having a keywords meta tag. My experience has been that pages with a large number of keywords are crawled by Google but not indexed.

      Thanks for the help.

You might want to sign up to Google's Search Console service.
        https://search.google.com/search-console/about

It might (or might not) show some errors for your site.
