Hi, I have just used version 7 for the first time with a JS version and I notice that my search page has From: and To: user text boxes. What are these for, and if I don't need these,can I remove them?

You have enabled Date Range searching. If this was not your intention, you can disable it on the "Search Page" configuration panel. You will need to do a reindex to update your settings.
