Search substring only for page title

I finally came across the substring option which allows more search results for incomplete queries. I would like to know if an alteration could be made to allow the substrings to only be applied to the page titles, and not the page params, or meta description. I have already modified the script heavily so I don't mind going into the source code to make a change like this.

Sub-string match might give more results, but it also reduced accuracy.

It is technically possible to treat titles differently from other text, but it would be a pretty major change in the code. Probably days of work, and the most efficient way of implementing it might involve changes in the indexer and the scripts.

i.e. There is no easy way to do this.
