  • Cannot index my blog

Hi.. I love Zoom.. Now I am trying to add my blog to the indexing procedure.. I keep getting 2 problems

    1. 503 error messages for all blog entries
    2. All blog entries show up for any search term.. Example: If I type in HepQuant in my search box and either use the All or the Blog category box.. every blog entry shows up with the word HepQuant highlighted although there is only one HepQuant occurence in the blog...

So, I am going to remove the blog box (category,, which I've set as a separate catetory) until I can figure this out..

    Help please

A HTTP 503 error means your server received the page request but can't handle it for some reason. e.g. overloading.

Are you indexing your own server or someone else's?

You could try throttling the indexer, which will add a delay between each page request. This can be done from the "Spider options" configuration window.

Hard to comment on the 2nd problem without seeing the site. Is this a public site we can look at?

Hi... Ah... throttling... good idea.. I'll try that..

What I did was remove the additional site..

My main url is www.hcvadvocate.org and this get spidered etc. wonderfully thank you

I want to add our blog http://hcvadvocate.blogspot.com/ and a category entry for it..

      Question:

      1. I assume I just add http://hcvadvocate.blogspot.com/ as another start point
and using the http://hcvadvocate.blogspot.com/ as the base URl for this entry? or do I use www.hcvadvocate as the base url for the blog startpoint?

      2. In the category how do I enter the pattern? For example for my News (which is relative to www.hcvadvocate.org/news/ I have /news/ but since my blog is from another site.... what is to be entered there? the following? /http://hcvadvocate.blogspot.com/ ?

      Thanks for you help

Right now I have the titles from my blog indexed on my main site, but I'd like people to be able to open a link on the blog

Yes, just add another start point for the 2nd domain.

Yes, a pattern like //hcvadvocate.blogspot.com/ should work for the categories feature.
