Can we combine two different indexes?

As I have two separate configuration files for different sections of my intranet site. Then later after creating indexes, Can I join those indexes together? Can I merge it to one index? And please note that I didn’t want to have single configuration file.

You can't directly merge existing sets of index files.

You can however add files to existing indexes. Or use MasterNode to combine the search results from multiple sets of index files. Or make a new set of index files that is the union of the smaller sets (in this case you'll have 3 sets of files). Or you can use the categories feature to have a single file with multiple categories, one category per section of your site.
