  • indexed file can't be found

I have a html file that shows up in the index, but when I do a search for it, the message that shows up is "no results found". Other pages in my site show up fine in the results. The search I am running is "V180" which shows up several times within the page as well as in the name:
    http://www.sloanled.com/V180.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had a look at your web site to try and investigate, but on your site the link to the search function is broken.
This URL, which is linked to from your home page,
    http://www.sloanled.com/test/ZoomFiles/search.asp
gives a 404 page not found error. I think the /test/ folder might not exist on your site.

So you should fix this problem first as is it much more critical than 1 page not in the index.

The next thing I found was that by manually removing the /test/ folder from the URL, the
search can work. But you are using an old release of Zoom, Version 6.0 (100. you should update to the current build.

Do you have HTML links from the home page to this V180 page for the spider to follow? What exactly do you mean when you say it shows up in the index? Do you mean the Zoom log?

      Credits Removal

      Hello again,
I want to take this topic to ask something.

      This is my results:
      9. http://192.168.1.10:200/produtos/PDetail/SY-765.htm
      Termos encontrados: 1 - Relevância: 12
      10. http://192.168.1.10:200/produtos/PDetail/gs2000.htm
      Termos encontrados: 1 - Relevância: 12
      Páginas de resultado: 1 2 3 Próxima >>
Pesquisa feita pelo Zoom Search Engine

This is Sloan Results in that link:

      Search results for: v180

      No results found.

Now, after looking that website, and I probably will buy some led's, I saw that the search is made in ASP and there's no credits "Zoom Search Engine".

My search is using PHP and if I change the search.php it shows an error message, so, since I don't want to have the message, is there a way to change the credits?

      Thank you.

You can remove the Zoom info line from within the Zoom Indexer. Under "Configure->Search Page", uncheck "Show Zoom info line" checkbox under the "Miscellaneous" section. Afterwards, you will need to re-index to get the new search page without the Zoom info line.

Thank you for your answer. I have fixed the link and removed the /test/ folder.

I do not have a link from my home page to the file that can not be found. I used Pluginlab Dreamweaver extension to build my menus. I recently got a new computer and the key no longer works for the plugin. I've tried contacting them, but they seem to have folded. I know this is a separate issue, but it is the reason I don't have a link to the page on my home page. Is this a requirement?

Lastly, yes, I meant that the page shows up in the log, so I thought that it would be found in the search.

The search when used in spider mode follows links on your site to find all the pages on your site. (It is a different story in offline mode, but I assume you are not using offline mode).

            See also these FAQ,
