  • Installing new hard-drive and need to re-install Zoom

    Hi,

I set up the Zoom indexer on a client's computer about a year ago, but now they are looking to change their hard-drive and reinstall Zoom. They are using the Professional edition. I am currently out of the country, and need to give them instructions to re-install Zoom on their new hard-drive.

Is there a place to look for this on this website? And how do they successfully install another version of Zoom if they have already payed for one copy that they will no longer be using? Is there a way to transfer the settings from their old software to the new version?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

They should back their configuration file (or save a new copy from the File menu in Zoom).

If in the unlikely event that anything else was customised, then also back that up (e.g. the language file, or any custom scripting that was done).

Now assuming you have lost the install package. Check what release you have and that you have the license key from the purchase EMail. Then download the software from our web site. Checking you download the version that matches your key. Then install on the new PC, and uninstall from the old PC.

Then re-enter the key on the new PC.
