Separate search bar

Hi,

I want to embed a search bar inside my website so that when I type in my keyword and click on submit, the results will open in a new page, much like news websites such as New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/) or CNN (http://www.cnn.com/). Can anyone help me on this?
