Locked by external application

When indexing, index log show "Error: File has been locked by external application. Could not open file..."

How can it be avoid? Due to file opened but not remebmer to close it by user. Can it be indexing with read only mode?

This is a normal situation. If a file is open for editing by a user, then it can not be opened by another application, even just for reading. And it wouldn't make sense to even attempt this as the file might be corrupt if it was read simultaneously with an edit taking place.
