  • Using the _ to stop page indexing.

I am using the free version and found the prompt that said I could use the underscore "_" on a directory or page name to keep zoom from indexing it. It is indexing it anyway. The page name looks something like this and this is just an example http:www.google.com/_highlights

My highlights page is just named _highlights, is in the root as is and not inside a folder or directory. I have the _ option checkmarked and saved before I index my site. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, B.

I think this is because this feature only works in offline mode. We should update our documentation to reflect this.

Both Dreamweaver and FrontPage make extra directories that start with underscores to contain miscellaneous information. If your are indexing in offline mode then you need to skip these files.

If you are indexing in Spider mode, these Dreamweaver and FrontPage will never be enountered and don't need to be skipped.

To solve this, in your case, just add the directory name
    /_highlights
    to the skip list.
