  • Questions - transfering licenses

Tried the free product about to buy the professional, but have a couple of questions. By the way nice product, easy to use and does what it claims.

I'm a web developer, I am purchasing the product for a client who hasnt quite decided which URL he is going to use. Once I purchase the product is it tied to a paticular URL?

When I purchase the product and set it up on my workstation what would be the best way to move the desktop program to the client once the site has been completed?

    Thanks.

No it is not linked to a particular URL.

A license is required for each copy of the Zoom Indexer application installed on a computer (unless it is the free edition).

However, each installed copy of the Indexer can be used to create and maintain multiple search engines, for different sites.

So if you manage 5 different websites and index all of these sites from the same computer (with one installation of Zoom Indexer), then you will only need one license.

But if each of these websites will be indexed from different computers (eg. the clients you are designing the websites for will want to be indexing the site from their own computers), then you will need multiple copies of Zoom Indexer for each computer, and a license per Indexer.

You can also distribute the search files generated by the Indexer on an unlimited number of CDs and DVDs. There are no royalty fees for distributing the search files generated. However, you must retain the copyright information within the search scripts.

You can either purchase licenses directly in the name of your client (answer yes to the question, Is your shipping address different than your billing address on the Zoom order form) or E-mail us to transfer the license and issue new license keys for you client (and cancel your existing key).
