how switching from windows hosting to linux

I want to switch from windows hosting to linux. I used the cgi option for the indexing. How can I do this without reindexing?

You posted in the V5 part of the forum. We don't support V5 any more.
But the index format is the same for Windows and Linux. So you need to move across all the index files BUT you need to swap the CGI script (even though technically it isn't a script but an executable) from the Windows version to the Linux version.

If you upgrade to the current release (V7 at the moment) then you'll need to re-index as the index format has changed.
