Can I divide my site into indexed sections so that I can have a search box for just that section not the whole site?

There are two options,
1) Use the categories feature. See the users guide for details,

2) Create multiple sets of index files. The trick here is to limit the indexing to just a subset of your web site. This can normally be done by selecting different start points and folders / pages to put in your skip list. Once you have worked out the settings required, save them as a configuration file. You should end up with a configuration file, a set of index files and a search function per subset of pages on your site.
