  • search.cgi only works with some words...

    Hi,

Something really strange is happening... My search.cgi installation only works when I search for certain words. On most cases I get an 500 Internal Server Error.

    Please try at:

    http://millarch.com.br/cgi-bin/search.cgi

try searching for for "ajuda" (without the quotes). - It works fine

now search for "musica". You get an 500 error...

The site is in portuguese, but you'll get the idea (and the error) anyway.

    Pleeease help

    Thanks folks !

This would normally indicate that you have an inconsistent (or corrupted)set of index index files on your server.

Examples of how this can happen are,
    1) You have uploaded the index files in FTP ASCII mode instead on binary mode. All files should be uploaded in binary mode. If you upload them in ASCII mode they will be corrupted.

    2) You have uploaded some files from particular indexing session and other files from other indexing session. This can result in inconsistencies between the index files.

    3) You have created a set of index files with version X of Zoom but are using the search.cgi from version Y.

You might also want to upgrade to V4.2. I think you are using V4.1 at the moment.

Thanks David, it worked after re-uploading.

      I just e-mailed you about 4.2.
