Godaddy hosting and search logs

FYI, Godaddy disables the "fopen" php function so the search log will not work if you are unfortunate enough (as I am) to be using godaddy as your webhost.

Any work-arounds out there? Suggestions (other than changing webhost)?

I did some searching on the web. All I found were people saying how bad GoDaddy was.
