  • skipped words we may want in double quotes

I know the configuration is set to not scan words less than like 2 characters to start. Does this mean that in order to make searches like "i love dogs" to work, I need to index everything?

I tried something like this and get:

Search results for: "i love dogs"

The following word(s) are in the skip word list and have been omitted from your search: "i love dogs"
Note that you can not search for exact phrases beginning with a skipped word.

    No results found.

Is my only option to allow just about every skipped word, all sizes, and increase my data files (and relevant word and page limits)? I was assuming that was the case, and that I would need to make sure I really work on my page boosting and result boosting to get the pages I want.

    Does that make sense?

Yes, you need to index your small words if you want to search for them.

You can't save the space by not indexing a word, then expect to be able to search for the word.

It doesn't really add too much size to the data files by including these short words and is probably worth doing for a lot of sites.
