  • Searches coming up blank

My existing search site is at:
    http://www.handicappedpets.biz/search/
    Works Fine.

Just ran Zoom again, files are huge but results are blank.
    http://www.handicappedpets.biz/search1/

Where should I look for a solution?

Do you have <!--ZOOMSEARCH--> on your template page? If not you need to add it, otherwise the results and the form will not be added to your page.

    Best wishes,

I tried to look at the URLs you posted, but I just get message,
You don't have permission to access /search1/ on this server.
This is before I even get to enter in a search. There is no point posting links unless the public has access to them.

Maybe you meant to post this link?
      http://www.handicappedpets.biz/search1/search.php

It might be a configuration issue on your Linux / Apache server with the server killing the script before the script completes.

You are also using V5.0 build 1001 which is now a bit old. You should upgrade to get the latest bug fixes and security fixes. But I don't think the old software is the cuase of this particaular problem. I think it is server side.

        Blank Results

        Thank you.
        Indeed, the correct links are
        http://www.handicappedpets.biz/search1/search.php (new)
        and
        http://www.handicappedpets.biz/search/search.php (old)

        The pagetext is 194 Megs
        Worldmap is 150 Meg

        Is this too large?

If so, can you point me to what I need to know to use the cgi version?

I am using the supplied sample template.

        Thanks!

If your server is configured corrrectly (see my last post), there is no reason to think your index is too large to function. But it also depends on what level of performance you are expecting. The CGI is faster and uses less RAM than the PHP option.

You should also check that you are not indexing more page than you need to. Check the indexer log to confirm this.

If you know nothing about installing a CGI 'script', then start by checking what your host supports and then do a small amount of background reading.

Then have a look at our CGI trouble shooting page if you have a problem,
