  • JSON with callback?

Lately, I have been playing around with JSON and thought perhaps not only would this be a slick way to aggregate search results for MasterNode, it could also permit quick ways to embed search results in pages (e.g. http://ispiders.blogspot.com/2007/08/json-is-kewl.html). Would you guys consider JSON with optional callback in addition to OpenSearch for the cgi version of ZoomSearch? Since JSON is fairly similar to RSS 2.0, I doubt it would take much effort to serialize search results this way. DeWitt Clinton has at least been thinking about OpenSearch in JSON instead of XML: http://blog.unto.net/opensearch/yelp-search-api/.

If this became a documented standard, and we had a few paying customers ask for it, we would definitely support it.

At the moment is seems this format is some way off becoming a widely used standard.
