    Plugin problem under vista

You recently posted a list of known problems under vista.

I can't get the mp3info plugin to work in vista, even if I start zoom itself with elevated privs - the plugin crashes out every time with 'application has stopped working'. Have checked it on win2K with the same configuration and datafile, and everything seems fine.

    *Edited* - well, almost fine

MP3s sometimes have a lot of hexadecimal information in the ID3v2 Comment field, e.g.

    000004A8 000004A2 0000133F 00000CD5 0001D505 00027117 000076D0 00007DD0 0001119E 0001119E

and something shorter but similar in the ID3v1 Comment field. I think these are being added by Apple's Itunes. It kills mp3info, and this then triggers a chain failure within Zoom

Sounds like the crash might be a result of the plug-in not dealing with a particular audio file and not directly related to Vista.

Could you E-mail us (or post a link to) one of these audio files that is causing a problem. We can then try it out here.

I can confirm that itunes does indeed include a lot of 'rubbish' data within MP3 tags. Another reason I refuse to use it.
