.PDF Incorrectly Boosted

Is there a way to prevent .PDF files from always coming up first when doing uncategorized searches? Seems like whenever I perform a search on my site using the regular search field (not advanced), the results are always .PDFs first.

It is hard to give good advice without seeing the site in question and doing a few searches.

To start with try adjusting the content density setting.
