I was wondering if it is possible to require some words but not others in the search. For example, search for (term1 or term2 or term3) and term4

You can do AND (by selecting ALL) or OR (by selecting ANY) but not AND and OR in the same expression. If that makes any sense
You can also do NOT by adding a minus sign. NOT can be combined with AND and OR.
(term1 AND term2) NOT term 3.
Based on previously analysis pretty much nobody is attempt complex Boolean searches. Even simple exact phrase and wild card searches are very rare.
