zoom file location

do the zoom index files have to reside in the root of my web site?, or can I locate them in a folder off the root?. I have tried this be keep getting 404 errors.

All the files must in the same directory. But they can be in any directory.

People often make a directory called search for the search function. e.g.
http://www.passmark.com/search/search.php

404 is a page not found error. Maybe you just typed in the URL wrong or got the upper and lower case characters mixed up?
