V5 HAS BEEN RELEASED
After 18 months of development, testing and improvements. V5 has arrived!
New features
The main new features of V5 compared to V4 are,
Beta build 11 - First public beta release: 15/Sept/06
Up until now we made the previous beta releases available to only a small group of people. This is the first public release open to everyone. This release contains about 95% of the final functionality.
Beta build 12 - 5/Oct/06
This release has added some final functionality and should be very stable.
Beta build 14 - 6/Nov/06
All functionality included, documentation completed, but there are still a few known minor bugs.
Beta build 15 - 14/Nov/06
All known bugs addressed. All functionality and documentation is finalized. Release candidate.
Final 'gold' release - 30/Nov/06
It was the plan to release it at the end of Oct 06. But it released on the 30/Nov/06

- DWF/AutoCAD file plugin
- Indexing filenames of .EXE, .ZIP and other binaries
- Improved logging & broken link detection
- Faster indexing with less RAM & CPU usage
- Faster searching, up to 6 times faster for the CGI.
- Google Sitemap generation
- Re-write of the FTP upload function to be more reliable
- New index file upload function that avoids taking search offline
- Vista compatibility
- Sun Solaris support for the search.cgi via a seperate download
