.doc and .pdf plug-ins

Hi

I am just about to purchase Zoom Pro but I would like to know a little more about the plug-ins before I do because we need to search mostly word docs and pdfs.

Please could you tell me more about how the plug-ins search the files? i.e. do they pick up data from the filename and word doc properties? Also, can they read data inside the non-protected pdf?

Yes, file names, meta data (properties), and text content are all indexed.

But you can toggle what is indexed from the "indexing options" tab in the Zoom configuration window.

You can also over ride DOC and PDF meta data, if required, using .desc files. See the Zoom users guide for details about how this works.
