  • creating cgi search on CD with Mircoweb

    Hi

I'm creating a cgi search on CD, but it is given out the error message below once I pressed the search button.

"400 The CGI returned an invalid header:

    Unrecognized character \x90 at D:\cgi-bin\search.cgi line 1."

I'm using Microweb as the server on the CD. I have choose CGI/Win and even CGI/Linux to spider the site - both failed.

It works when I uploading to the proper web server, but just does not work on a CD.

Any help would be great, thanks

I assume you are trying to use the CD in a Windows machine? (Not a Linux machine or a Mac?)

If you are targeting Windows machines then you should select CGI/Win and not CGI/Linux.

The error, "Unrecognized character \x90..." is covered in our FAQ section for the GGI.

It probably means the server (Microweb in this case) is not configured correctly the the server is trying to run the CGI as a Perl script (and our CGI is not a Perl script).

Also, we are now suggesting people use the cheaper and simpler Server2Go server for CD's rather than the Microweb package.

Please can you inform me how to add the CGI handler on httpd.conf and lines to change with Server2Go .

Been trying to change a few things, but with no result.

      thanks

The details of using Server2go and Zoom are here,
        http://www.wrensoft.com/zoom/support/cgicd.html

I didn't think any changes were required httpd.conf, but I need to check to be sure.
